Finally, Barcelona manage to sign four of their five new LaLiga signings, including Robert Lewandowski, after freeing up enough funds by selling ANOTHER 25% of their own TV company… but no joy for Jules yet Kound!
- Despite the financial problems, Barcelona has registered four new players in LaLiga
- There were concerns about the club’s ability to secure their expensive signings
- They did this by selling 25% more of their homegrown company
- French defender Jules Kounde is the only signing who has not been registered
Barcelona have now registered all their new signings with the Liga bar one, just 24 hours before their first game of the season at home to Rayo Vallecano.
Defender Jules Kounde, who has turned down Chelsea to join Barca, is still not registered and the club will have to free up more of their wage bill in order to sign the French defender before the end of the month.
But the club are happy with the result and are confident that Kounde, who is recovering from a pubic operation and may not have featured anyway, will be registered on September 1.

They have now managed to land four of their new players, including the £50million signing of Raphinha
Barcelona sold a further 24.5 per cent of Barça Studios on Friday and, when the Spanish League’s Economic Control department reviewed details of the latest sale, it was able to confirm that Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen could already be registered.
Sergio Roberto, who signed a new contract this summer, and Ousmane Dembele, who re-signed for the club as a free agent, are also on the roster.
Jaume Roures, the head of the Orpheus Media company that on Friday bought a part of Barcelona’s own production company for 100 metres, said he is confident that the club will now be able to present all its stars.

“I wouldn’t have interrupted my vacation if it wasn’t for being able to see all the best players (in the first game of the season),” said the Barcelona businessman who helped president Joan Laporta raise his deposit to take the control of the club last season.
Barcelona are still working to secure additional income before the end of August so they can sign Kounde and complete the signing of Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso.
The focus on further reducing the wage bill has so far focused on Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong and Gerard Piqué, but so far only Piqué has had his salary adjusted.
