- Antony showed his talent in Ajax’s 6-1 win against Groningen on Sunday
- The Manchester United target admitted he “feels good” at the Dutch club
- He insisted: “I’m focused here. I give everything for this club, every minute.”
- Erik ten Hag’s side were thrashed 4-0 by Brentford and moved to the bottom of the table
Manchester United transfer target Antony provided a masterclass for Ajax during their 6-1 win over Groningen on Sunday, just a day after Erik ten Hag’s side were thrashed 4- 0 for Brentford in the Premier League.
The Brazilian winger scored Ajax’s second of the game with a powerful left-footed shot from the right-back, minutes after beating three Groningen defenders with sublime skill in the penalty area.
Ten Hag have made no secret of their desire to reunite with the 22-year-old, having built a positive relationship with the youngster in Amsterdam.

But after weeks of negotiations, Manchester United fell short of Ajax’s £67million valuation, and it seems Antony is more than happy to stay put and continue to thrive with the Eredivisie giants .
Speaking to Dutch channel NOS, the Brazil international admitted he was “totally focused” on Ajax, a mindset he showed more than on Sunday.
‘Will Ten Hag call me? No idea – said Antoni.
“You have to talk about it with my agents, I’m focused here. What will come will come, we’ll see.
“I feel good at Ajax. I give everything for this club, every minute. So I love this city and this club.”
Erik ten Hag suffered a 4-0 defeat at Brentford as Manchester United collapsed in the first half.
Antony’s master class, combined with his commitment to Ajax, continues to rub salt in the wounds of Red Devils fans, who have seen their side open the new campaign with back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Brentford.
Ten Hag’s side are bottom of the Premier League and still look far from signing any major or significant reinforcements this summer, having failed to land Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and new Red Bull Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
Meanwhile in Amsterdam, ex-Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn has started his Ajax career in explosive fashion, scoring a hat-trick against Groningen in just his second league game at his new club.
