GARY NEVILLE has branded Manchester United a “graveyard for footballers” as he named just TWO successful transfers in the past ten years.
The former right-back lined up at the club alongside Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football, 48 hours after the humiliation at Brentford.
Neville and his colleague Jamie Carragher broke down the embarrassing performance and deep-rooted problems at Old Trafford.
And that included Neville breaking down the club’s top signings since 2013, excluding third-choice keepers and youngsters not ready for the first team.
Of the 33 signings for a total of £1.25 billion in transfer fees, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bruno Fernandes received a positive rating.
Seven got an ‘amber’ including Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire.
But the remaining 24 were given ‘reds’ to indicate they were unsuccessful transfers with the long list featuring Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Jadon Sancho and £24million flop Morgan Schneiderlin.
Neville ripped apart the culture of failure now embedded at the club, which has not come close to winning the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
He said: “United have switched between managers and strategies.
“I was excited about a lot of these signings, even last year with Sancho, Raphael Varane and Ronaldo.
“It has become a graveyard for the footballers of this football club.
“Seventy-five percent of those signings haven’t worked out.
“Four or five percent have worked, that’s a horror story.
“We have blamed the players a lot over the last ten years.
“When a school is underperforming, the government puts them in special measures and you don’t blame the kids.”
Questions remain over Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford amid ongoing talk of a move to play in the Champions League.

Neville, however, fears for Erik ten Hag if he allows Ronaldo to leave and doesn’t make some successful signings before deadline day.
He added: “They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t sell Ronaldo.
“A few weeks ago the best thing to do was facilitate a move, now if they lose him there is no goal left.
“If they don’t bring in players or the players don’t perform and they sell Ronaldo, I think they can finish in the bottom half of the Premier League.
“They are absolutely demoralized and shot.
“Erik ten Hag in pre-season got them a level of confidence, but they’re back to the default situation.
“Not getting the players I wanted is an absolute surprise.
“United will ride the wave and get through this season, but they will have to go through the hardest times since they were relegated 40 years ago.”
